France is relaxing travel rules from 31st March 2022 and moving the UK onto it's green list.
Unvaccinated travellers from the UK will no longer need to have an essential reason to travel to/from France. All passengers, whether vaccinated or not, no longer need to complete a statement of honour form.
• Passengers who are considered fully vaccinated under French rule will only need to show proof of vaccination to enter France.
• Passengers who are not fully vaccinated under French rule will need to show:
- A negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure
OR
- A negative antigen test taken no more than 48 hours before departure
OR
- a recovery certificate showing a positive PCR or antigen test result no older than 6 months
Please note that NHS tests are not accepted.
Children aged 11 and under are exempt from all requirements.
You can find full details on the French Government website.
Proof of vaccination status
France will accept the UK’s proof of COVID-19 recovery and vaccination record at the border. The French government recognises any vaccination certificates which conform to the EU Digital Covid Status Certification framework, illustrating that you are fully vaccinated with a vaccine authorised by the European Medical Authority. This means your final vaccine dose must have been administered at least 7 days prior to travel for Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna or 28 days after a single dose of Johnson & Johnson. For details on how to demonstrate your COVID-19 status in domestic settings in France, see the Coronavirus page. Your NHS appointment card from vaccination centres is not designed to be used as proof of vaccination and should not be used to demonstrate your vaccine status.
Travellers aged over 18 and one month who had their full vaccine course over 9 months ago and have not since received a COVID-19 vaccine booster must follow the rules for unvaccinated passengers to enter France (see below).
