Danse Macabre Opens October 31st at Efteling

18th July 2024 - Efteling's new haunted attraction, Danse Macabre, will open on October 31st. Located where the Spookslot Haunted House once stood, the ride features a unique turntable system and draws inspiration from Camille Saint-Saens' music. The new Huyverwoud themed area, with its dark food options and entertainment will also enhance the eerie atmosphere and experience. 

Efteling Announces New Entertainment and Longer Opening Hours 

3rd July 2024 - With summer now in full swing, Efteling is extending its entertainment offerings and park hours. Starting July 4th, the Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, including weekends. This summer, visitors can enjoy new attractions and the playing field will transform into a Summer Beach, complete with a giant sandcastle, where Jokie and Jet will make regular appearances. Additionally, the "Red Nose Boogie Boys" will entertain guests daily with fantastic lively music. 

New Comedy Theatre Show Coming to Efteling

12th June 2024 - In December 2024, a brand-new comedy show will be coming to the stages at Efteling. The story follows two sisters, Julia and Sophie as they explore the wonders of Efteling at night, uncovering hilarious problems like The Fakir not being able to fly on his carpet due to a new fear of heights and the ghosts of Danse Macabre losing their sense of rhythm. Expect a fast-paced series of funny situations brought to life thorough a host of talented actors and actresses.

Pirana Will Reopen on 29th June

5th June 2024 - Following an extensive refurbishment, the Pirana river rapids ride will be reopening to guests on the 29th June ready for the warm summer months. The refurbishment focused on touching up the artwork and installing new effects that make this 600 meter long river rapid attraction even better than before!

 

Efteling Announces Park Steam Trains Will Be Going Fully Electric 

15th May 2024 - The iconic steam trains of Efteling have been ferrying passengers around the theme park for over 55 years. Ever since their first departures, the trains have been running on coal. With the Park aiming to be climate-neutral by 2030, Efteling will be gradually replacing the coal-fired locomotives with an environmentally friendly electric solution. The appearance of the trains will remain the same, with just the train's propulsion being altered and the first electric powered train introduced in the next edition of Winter Efteling. 

 

Experience the wonders of Efteling in Spring

2nd April 2024 - After a dark and cold winter, spring is finally on the horizon and it’s one of the best times of the year to visit Efteling. As nature reawakens, expect stunning flower displays and thriving plant life throughout the park, and don’t forget the dozens of bird boxes home to varieties of several breeding birds. As you wander the paths of the park, keep your eyes peeled for the ducks and their ducklings, and in between the thrilling rides and shows, take a moment to relax on one of the many benches enjoying the sunny spring weather.

 

Landmark for Efteling as Highest Point of Danse Macabre Reached

20th February 2024 - In what is exciting news for one of Europe's most popular theme parks, Koen Sanders (Director of Product, Marketing & Image at Efteling) has revealed that a special milestone has been reached with the construction of the brand-new attraction Danse Macabre. 

Addressing the press in conference following the placing of a four-metre pointed spire which sits atop of the building, Sanders said "We are really investing in the future. The highest point of Danse Macabre nicely symbolises that. In line with our vision for our themed areas, we are building a completely new area in one go. Inspired by the iconic Spookslot, we are adding a creepy experience with an extra dimension to Efteling. Danse Macabre's spectacular ride system is also unique and has not yet been built anywhere else in the world. I am extremely proud of the entire project and look forward to Autumn 2024."

 

Efteling Unveils Brand-New Sustainability Measures for 2024 

8th February 2024 - With an incredible 25,000 solar panels already installed around the outskirts of the Park, Efteling is going one-step further with its environmental efforts by introducing its own sustainable energy system, Anderrijk. Anderrijk uses heat-cold storage to heat and cool buildings, handy for areas such as the Aquanura water show pond. In addition to this new system, Efteling are placing huge emphasis on waste separation and recycling, even encouraging guests to hand in cans and bottles at selected desks.  

Efteling Hotel Introduces A Freshly Designed Family Suite

5th February 2024 - Drawing inspiration from the magical world of fairies, elves, and trolls found in the immensely popular Droomvlucht ride, Efteling Hotel has opened a five-person suite that's perfect for all of the family, the first in almost a decade. Inside the lavish suite includes a romantic four-poster double bed and expandable bunk beds complete with a magical hidden sleeping area, in addition to a double rain shower, Nespresso coffee machine and a mini fridge for your snacks. 

 

Winter at Efteling has officially begun!

28th November 2023 - For the 25th time since its grand opening, Efteling has undergone a magical transformation into a winter wonderland with crackling bonfires, thousands of sparkling lights, a multitude of winter-warming wood-burning stoves, and all the winter decorations one could wish for. 

Running until 4th February 2024, park highlights include a completely redesigned Warme Winter Weide winter garden, festive entertainment for the entire family, and an increase in size of the ever-popular ice-skating rink. 

 

Winter renovations for the Fairytale Forest

11th October 2023 - In the coming winter months, The Sleeping Beauty area of the Fairytale Forest will be undergoing a major renovation focusing on complete refurbishment of the towering Castle and more accessible paths throughout. Keep an eye out on our socials for precise closure and reopen dates. 

As of 18th September, the Mushroom Village in the Fairytale Forest has reopened following redevelopment for wheelchair access. 

 

Efteling Grand Hotel will be opening it's doors in 2024!

19th September 2023 - The largest hotel in the World of Efteling will be named Efteling Grand Hotel and will open it's doors in 2024. It will be the very first hotel within the theme park, located behind the main entrance, overlooking the Aquanura water show and the Fairytale Forest. The Efteling Grand Hotel will have seven floors and 143 rooms. It will also have a swimming pool and spa, two restaurants and two souvenir shops.

 

Efteling attraction 'Danse Macabre' set to open in 2024!

30th June 2023 - Danse Macabre will be part of a completely new themed area at Efteling. The surroundings are a mysterious setting in which the 20-metre-high attraction building immediately catches the eye. The themed area with catering, retail and matching entertainment will soon be the creepiest part of Efteling. Alongside a new attraction, the themed area will also include top tier catering, a souvenir shop and fun entertainment.

 

NEW Entertainment this Summer at Efteling!

18th May 2023 - There is plenty of new entertainment coming this Summer and we don't want anyone missing out on the magic that Efteling has to offer! Jokie & Jet will be introudced on the new Summer beach, involving a large inflatable sombrero with a mariachi band playing themed music. A suprise new thrill near the guest favourite attraction, Python, will be revealed. And finally, some fan favourite entertainment will be introduced from last year. We will keep you up to date on further details!

 

It's Time for an Extra Hour of Efteling Sunshine!

20th April 2023 - Efteling want you to enjoy the Spring sunshine just a little bit longer. So, from the 21st April to 7th May, they are keeping their doors open for an extra hour, from 10:00am to 7:00pm! You'll be able to enjoy thrilling roller coasters, enchanting attractions, experience the Fairytale Forest and the renovated Dutch Anton Pieck Plein, for even longer!

 

The Beloved Droomvlucht Dark Ride Reopens after a 4 Month Refrubishment

23rd February 2023 - After the 30 year old ride had to close down for refurbishments back in November last year, it left a big whole for Efteling lovers, but now the ride is back and better than ever! Technicals throughout the ride have been vastly improved whilst safety is at an all time high on the ride. Animatronics have been replaced, whilst visually the ride has seen a massive upgrade. Unfortunately, due to an incident with the Heavenly Strongholds scene, this will not be open when the ride offically opens on 4th March.

 

A New Wonderful Wintertime at Efteling...

9th December 2022 - A new show called A Wonderful Wintertime featuring CARO characters Mr and Ms Time, will be played during Winter Efteling on weekends and holidays at the Carrousel Theater. It's time to enjoy some weirdly wonderful christmas performances starting tomorrow on the 10th December

 

Spook Slot Haunted House to close its doors.

5th August 2022 - Efteling’s Spook Slot Haunted House is set to close its doors on 4th September 2022. The iconic attraction that has graced the theme park since 1978, will be thrilling guests for one last time as Efteling make way for a new, set to be an even creepier themed area and attraction that won’t be or the faint hearted. From 3rd to 4th September, guests will have the chance win a visit to the Haunted House once the sun goes down, where you’ll be able to bid a worth farewell to the spine chilling attraction. Places are limited however and are subject to availability. Please contact our team for more information and keep an eye out for more information on the new Spooktacular attraction.

 

Brand New! Efteling Grand Hotel!

28th June 2022 - The wonderful World of Efteling is set to open their biggest hotel yet, and the huge bonus is that it will be within the theme park itself. Efteling Grand Hotel is set to open in 2024 and will be a regal, seven-storey building which will mirror the rich history of the popular theme park. The hotel will be located behind the main park entrance, overlooking the mesmerising water show Aquanura and the Fairytale Forest. Facilities will include a luxurious spa and swimming pool, two restaurants and two souvenir shops, open to both hotel and park guests.

 

70th Anniversary Celebrations

21st December 2021 - In 2022 Efteling will be celebrating it's 70th Anniversary! Guests will discover dazzling decorations and party music throughout the park. Plus, plenty more exciting surprises!

 

Enjoy extra long summer days!

25th June 2021 - In July and August 2021 you can visit Efteling theme park from 10am - 10pm almost every day! And the park is even more enchanting when the sun has gone down.

 

New attractions coming this winter!

24th June 2021 - This winter, the Avonturen Doolhof adventure maze and Monsieur Cannibale spinning cauldrons will close and be adapted to the theme of Sindbad the Sailor, from the stories of 1001 Nights. At the end of 2021 they will reopen with the new names Archipel and Sirocco. 

 

Temporary Closure

9th February 2021 - Due to extended lockdown measures in the Netherlands, Efteling will remain closed up to and including 2nd March 2021.

 

Coronavirus Safety Measures

24th September 2020 - There are currently special guidelines in place at Efteling to ensure the health and safety of all guests and members of staff. There are a limited number of visitors admitted to the theme park each day - guests must reserve an entry slot before they visit Efteling Theme Park. Social distancing of 1.5 meters from other visitors is required - there is clearly indicated boxes and markings at all locations. Important contact points will be disinfected more frequently and hand sanitation points are located around the theme park. It is not essential that guests wear a mask during their visit to Efteling Theme Park.

 

Efteling opens new ride, Max & Moritz

20th June 2020 - Guests visiting Efteling will be able to enjoy a new family roller coaster from today! Max & Moritz offers exciting rides through an Alpine landscape.

 

The magic is back at Efteling!

20th May 2020 - Today Efteling reopened its doors to guests, who can once again experience the many thrilling attractions, dazzling shows and live entertainment on offer at this fantastic theme park.
